About
Brain Trust is a blog for those of us grappling to understand the brain – our own, our children’s, our loved ones’. My son seemed to ricochet from one diagnosis to another, depending on which specialist we consulted. After his brain injury at the age of 16, when his acute care had ended, we felt as if we were on our own. No single doctor was in charge of our son’s post-brain injury care. I wanted to talk with others who were also dealing with the angry outbursts, the lack of judgment, the seizures – the frightening aftermath of a traumatic brain injury. I hope Brain Trust can become a sort of virtual community in which we can share our fears and our resources, our setbacks and triumphs. I hope it can also be a place where we continue to learn about the brain by sharing new research, insightful articles, helpful books.
